Statuses

In Time Stream, assigning a task status keeps your workload and gives you a clearer view of how to approach your tasks.

You can manage status settings by creating new statuses, editing existing statuses, deleting abandoned statuses or re-arranging the order of statuses. Each Collection has its own set of statuses, allowing you to customize workflows for different projects.

Statuses belong to a specific collection. When you switch collections, you'll see different statuses appropriate to that collection's workflow.

Create a new status

Here is a user guide for creating a new status:

  • Select the collection where you want to add the status using the collection dropdown.
  • Click on the Settings (the gear) icon at the top right corner of Timestream, and select Manage statuses.
  • Click Create a new status.
  • In the pop-up modal, enter a label and choose a colour for the new status.
  • Optionally, select a category (Active or Complete) to enable the quick complete check button for tasks.
  • Click Save.

Status categories

Statuses can be assigned a category to enable helpful features:

  • None: Regular status with no special behavior.
  • Active: For work in progress or upcoming tasks.
  • Complete: For finished or done tasks.

When a collection has both Active and Complete statuses, tasks display a check button for quickly marking them complete.

Arrange the order of your statuses

You can manage the order of your status using the up/down arrow on each status. Re-order your status so that they make the most sense to you, i.e. 'Up next', followed by 'In progress', followed by 'Done', etc. When creating a new task, you will see the statuses in the order you choose here so that you may place your most used status at the top of your status list.

Edit a status

Here is a user guide for editing an existing status:

  • Click on the kebab menu to the right of the status you want to edit, and select Edit from the dropdown.
  • Edit the label or colour on the pop-up modal.
  • Click Save.

Delete a status

You can delete statuses that are not applicable to you anymore to keep your status list neat.
