Pomodoros
If using Time Stream to implement the Pomodoro Technique, you can customise the following:
- Pomodoro length: A Pomodoro session is 25 minutes by default, which follows the original methodology. However, in Time Stream, you have the power to customize the duration of your Pomodoro session. Edit your preferred Pomodoro length in minutes; your selection will be applied to the timer immediately if you aren't in session or at the beginning of your next session if you are in session. This flexibility puts you in control of your work rhythm.
- Auto start Pomodoros: When this toggle is active, the Pomodoro timer will continue playing automatically after a session ends until a long break. You can toggle it off to start Pomodoro sessions yourself with more flexibility.
Breaks
The Pomodoro Technique has two types of breaks: short and long.
You take a short break after each 25-minute work session; the break is typically around 5 minutes long, which makes the whole cycle around 30 minutes.
A short break allows you to get some fresh air and perspective. It's not just a pause, it's a moment to reset and recharge. It benefits your mental and physical health and prepares you for the next Pomodoro.
You take a long break after four Pomodoros, usually around 20 minutes long. Use this time to get a coffee, tidy your desk, or even take a quick walk.
Vary the length of breaks according to your own needs. For example, lengthen breaks between sets when working on complicated tasks and then adjust them back when working on more simple tasks.
The following break settings are available for customisation:
- Break length: This is for the short break after each Pomodoro session.
- Long break length: This is for the long break after a certain amount of Pomodoro sessions (typically four).
- Long break after: This is for the number of Pomodoro sessions before a long break begins.
Theme
Time Stream has three theme styles for users to choose from:
- The system default will follow your device's preferences, e.g., if you have night mode set to come on automatically, then Time Stream will switch to the dark theme.
- The light theme is white and bright.
- The dark theme is dark and easy on the eye.
Select an option from the theme dropdown to select your preferred theme. Personalize your Time Stream experience by choosing the theme that best suits your style and preferences.
